Ingredients for panini:

  • 8 slices of hearty bread
  • 8 oz. of white sharp cheddar cheese sliced
  • 4 Tb. onion jam spread (we found it at Harris Teeter)
  • 16 slices of roasted deli turkey
  • 4 Tb. butter
  • salt and pepper

Making the Panini

Take 4 slices of your bread and spread some butter on the outside. Place buttered bread side down, onto a preheated flat top griddle. Add slices of sharp white cheddar cheese, 4 slices of turkey meat, and then on the other slice of bread add 1 tablespoon of the onion jam. Spread more butter on the outside and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook on the first side for about 3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Cut in half and serve. We served these panini’s with a simple arugula and cherry tomato salad.
